Two economists at Princeton University found that only one extra year of training after high school added an average of $96,000 to male workers' lifetime income and $51,000 to a female's lifetime earnings. This is also true of colleges and technical schools where an additional year of training will raise a worker's wage by 16%. To have an edge in America's job market, it used to be enough to be well educated. Employees who can change and adapt with the rapid advance of technology earn 10 - 15% higher pay, according to the Chief Economist for the U.S. Department of Labor.
